The Central Florida Gay community is spread out in many areas throughout Orlando and while there are small communities such as Thornton Park in the downtown Orlando district, most of the Gay community is spread out through the surrounding counties. I find that most GLBT clients choose a location based on employment opportunities. Walt Disney World and Universal Studios are major employers for all of Central Florida. Kissimmee, South Orlando, Hunters Creek and Metro West are in close proximity to these employers. Lockheed Martin and UCF are located in East Orlando and many Business Professionals find the Waterford Lakes, Avalon Park, and East Orlando area convenient for traveling to work. Orlando is now home to the new Orlando Medical City near the Orlando International airport. This large medical complex is attracting home buyers who work in the medical field to the community of Lake Nona and other surrounding areas.
