Many who aren’t familiar with the Orlando area are surprised to hear about the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum in the picturesque suburb of Winter Park, north of Orlando. This beautiful museum is chock full of Tiffany Artwork and Glass!
Since opening just over a decade ago at its location on Park Avenue, Winter Park, the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum has gone from strength to strength! It houses the most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the world. The expansive Tiffany collection includes pottery, paintings, art, glass, leaded-glass windows, lamps, jewelry and much, much more! The museum is always on the grow and is expanding both its collection and its physical exhibition space. The museum doesn’t just contain artwork by Tiffany, but also has a good collection of American paintings and prints, definitely worth checking out!
The museum has roots back to the 1940’s and was houses in the Rollins College Campus at the south end of Park Avenue for some years before moving to its current location on the north end of Park Avenue.
Even if you are a resident in Orlando and know about the museum, visiting it can be a fun afternoon out, having lunch at one of the various cute restaurants along Park Avenue, strolling through the park and soaking up some culture and history at the museum.
