“There’s No Business Like Show Business!”

Yes, it may be a stereotype but we love the theatre, the movies and Broadway! That is why the Gay Community of Orlando and Central Florida is so excited about the opening of the construction and future opening of the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center in Downtown Orlando.

But beyond a gorgeous new arts facially which goes someway to replace the aging Bob Carr, there is some more exciting news that was broke by Watermark in Orlando this month: a deal with Broadway has been reached for the Dr. Philips Center!

That’s right, the team that is responsible for the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts has reached a a five-year co-presenting partnership deal with the Broadway Consortium beginning with the 2014/2015 Broadway Season. For reference, The Broadway Consortium is comprised of Broadway Across America (BAA), PTG–Florida and Florida Theatrical Association (FTA).

What does this mean for the Dr. Phillip Center? Well details about the deal are still pretty secret, but it should cement the relationship between the new facility and Broadway for it to be a new venue for traveling Broadway shows allowing arts lovers in Central Florida to get the Broadway experience without having to go to New York City!
